Q 1. How does an excess work?
Ans 1. When you lodge a claim, you’re required to pay an excess. The following excesses may be applicable and can be found on your policy schedule: Basic Excess This is the initial amount payable by you on any claim. Additional Excess In some instances, an Additional Excess will apply to your claim. Unlisted Driver Excess If the car was driven by a driver who is not noted on the policy schedule (and who is not otherwise excluded), an additional Unlisted Driver Excess will apply. Windscreen Excess The Windscreen Excess is the same as the Basic Excess unless you choose the option to reduce your excess for windscreen claims. One Excess If you, or your spouse or de facto, claim for the same incident on more than one Youi policy, only one excess will need to be paid. The incident must be a single event that occurs at the same address and time, and the applicable excess will be the highest excess amount noted on the relevant policies.
Q 2. Can I choose my excess?
Ans 2. Yes. We’re about providing insurance that’s a bit more you-shaped, which includes the ability for you to choose your level of excess, along with any relevant optional covers that may be available with your policy.
Q 3. Does Youi offer CTP insurance?
Ans 3. Yes. We currently offer Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance in New South Wales (where it’s also called a Green Slip) and also in South Australia. Click the links below for more info on each.
Q 4. How long has Youi been operating for?
Ans 4. Youi has been operating in Australia after being authorised by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) and receiving its Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) from ASIC on 01 March 2008. However, the company can trace its origins back to 1998 through its sister company, OUTsurance.
